HONING YOUR ELEVATOR SPEECH

Nonprofit organizations are doing complex, challenging and life-changing work. Too often, the details about what you do are so dense that your target audiences can’t sift through them to find the answer to their ultimate question, “Why should I care about you?”

Strategic planning should get you there, but it typically doesn’t. Why? Because stakeholders too often get lost in the granularity of the nonprofit’s business and the semantics of defining mission, vision and values. They are word smithed until the magic has disappeared.

Strategic planning executed well is critical to a nonprofit’s short- and long-term management and accountability, but it doesn’t speak to or create new evangelists.

Strategic positioning is a high-economy process where we ask different questions that lead to an entirely unique and differentiating result. We elevate the organization and shine a fresh light on two things:

1) what makes it remarkable, and
2) how it connects to your constituents

This interactive discussion, lead by Deborah McMurray CEO of Content Pilot, will feature two recent positioning strategy and rebranding case studies for long-respected DFW nonprofits, Legacy Cares and Metrocare. Learn about how positioning works, how to elevate above the horizon you currently see, and the impact a new strategy can have on your nonprofit.
